There is no reason to hole up indoors when the weather is calling you out. Have a rainy day birthday? After considering the excellent options for the celebration of nature as intended – in outdoor drinks, food, and fun to take advantage of some warm months that we have in this city. All venues at the bottom to allow for relaxing, mingling, and basking in the sun, but each one will suit your style differs in terms of people, dress code, and wallet-friendliness.
1. Central Park. A picnic in Central Park is not just for couples. Sheep's Meadow will be one of the best choices birthday on a sunny summer day. Bring a few bottles of wine, some bread and cheese, and of course some cupcakes, and you have the makings of a great way to just chill out with a good group of friends. There are great people-watching, frisbee throwing, and sunbathing to keep everyone entertained.
2. Tonic East. The rooftop tonic East is the kind of place where you can watch a game, listen to some tunes, eat tater tots, and order a beer tower to keep the good feelings flowing. The staff are always friendly so you do not have to worry about having your party providers. The Murray Hill location ensures that when the sun is down or you're ready for something more upbeat than lounging outside, you can head downstairs to a street full of people party and a line of bars ready to take you in.
3. The Frying Pan. What better way to spend your birthday than a boat? Well, a boat that does not move, but nonetheless an interesting twist to the usual bars. The Frying Pan will not give you sea sickness and a pitcher of white sangria will make you feel like you're on vacation. Grab a large group of fun-lovers and go ahead to reserve a large table overlooking the Hudson.
4. The Delancey. The basement area of the bar can be a little dark, but the rooftop is a ray of light in the les. Pretty elegant palm trees and plants placed decorates the roof space and makes you feel when you entered a relaxing oasis in the middle of NYC. Drinks are reasonably priced, L-shaped banquettes let you interact with your friends without yelling the usual strong speakers, and you will be able to enjoy the thrill of a rooftop without the agony of having your friends foot a huge bill.
5. Fifth 230. There is not really another rooftop space like this. Huge, beautiful, and the posh catering to consumers who do not mind paying for the environment. If you hip-hungry friends and not cash strapped, this is a good choice for an outdoor bash. You can receive as many as you want and if it rains, The indoor lounge is large and chic as well.
