Wholesale Drop Shipper Sources – What to Look For, What to Look Out For
A wholesale drop shipper allows you to sell items without Following a physical inventory. You can sell the products listed on the pages of the web site of a wholesale drop shipper's for more than the drop shipper will charge and keep the difference as profit. Let's start with the worst offenders and work our way up. There are companies out there portraying themselves as wholesale drop shippers but in reality what is called a "network broker". There is a good description them in Worldwide Brands, click on the link to the right and watch scam look at the second entry, the broker network (this whole section has a lot of good information the "fraud" to watch out for when researching a wholesale drop shipper).
An example of a broker network Simplx. They have a very intricate system of steps that you need to do, each one of you moving away from being a panacea brand name wholesale drop shipper pledged their sites, and in the dark and murky depths of participating in a network broker. What you are actually getting a sales commission situation (they require a W-9 to participate, something with no real drop ship supplier requires) and a business model similar to the MLM. Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY THE APPLICATION FEE just to learn what it is all about. No reputable business requires this.
Now let's move on to the middle ground of the middleman. This is a drop ship source but I do not consider a middleman a wholesale drop shipper. The middleman position drop ship company itself between the manufacturer / distributor wholesale drop shipper and retailer. They are usually combined with many different suppliers and present it to under "one roof". Many charge a monthly fee and also have per order drop ship fees. In general should stay away from the "evil middleman "because it is difficult to find a profitable product lines provided there middleman mark up, participation fees, and per order drop ship fees. I heard people making money with non wholesale drop shipper companies though, and if you have some time to kill (I wasted a weeks worth of work it) can want to check out the free trial to Doba.
Finally there is the real wholesale drop shipper companies. They are manufacturers and distributors who are willing to work directly to the little guy Internet retail. You can use the resources to stock your eBay or other online stores and stand to make a small profit. One that I came the sum of after hours and hours of search Maxam wholesale. Like most legitimate wholesale drop shipper companies Maxam require a business, which means you must have a resale license and preferable to a Federal Tax ID. They also require a $ 100 minimum purchase for you at first to establish is a serious shop and not a consumer trying to buy wholesale. The restrictions are really good indicator that you are dealing with a reputable and very wholesale drop shipper.
As I said, it took time to find the source. Believe me, searching for wholesale drop shipper companies using Google turns up middleman and broker network provides almost exclusively. My best sources have come from the Drop Ship Directory offered by Worldwide brands (mentioned above). For 70 bucks my lifetime, INDIRECT, access to a vetted list of drop ship suppliers. You can even apply some of the suppliers directly from within your Worldwide Brands member area, and I have always found a better rate of acceptance mentioning when I was a member of the International brand.
So, stay away from broker networks, employ deceitful tactics right from the start and will not provide any information about what they really offer until they have taken hundreds, perhaps thousands, of dollars from your credit card (s). Beware the middleman (personally I'd stay away) as they eat a lot of time sourcing very few products that can make even a slim margin. Look for direct access to wholesale drop shipper companies that do not charge a fee to access their products. And save a lot of time, join a reputable list directory (Worldwide Brands is the only one I can not see a lot of negative feedback about) that gives you direct, referenced access to drop ship supplier.
