What it Takes to Become a Paramedic
This is definitely an understatement to say that paramedics have a tough job. Mental, emotional and physical Stress is part of it, as well as the ability to stay calm and act quickly in extreme situations. If you are thinking of becoming a paramedic, here is a brief explanation of the steps required.
Make Some Research
You should always do your research on any career you are thinking about before you enter it on the head. This is especially true when you are talking about being a paramedic. Most community colleges offer paramedic class. Go to a local community college and talk to a paramedic instructor and find out exactly what it takes to do the job. This will give you a more good idea of what being a paramedic you require and whether or not the right thing for you.
EMT Basic Training
Emergency medical technician training is the most basic training you have to go through to become a paramedic. This entails about 120-150 hours hands on training. You'll learn how to respond to injured patients, assess medical conditions in the area and provide basic medical aid. It is recommended to get a year of field experience as an EMT paramedic training before starting.
Paramedic Training

Depending on the state, paramedics are required to pass the National Registry of Emergency technicians exam or the state exam. You must renew your certification every two years, which means updating your regular education even as you work full time.
Life as a paramedic
Paramedics will continue to put intense and unpredictable situations in which they are required to conduct themselves with professional efficiency. This is a tough job that requires a long time. Anywhere from 45 to 60, and often call in case of emergency situations.
