How Facebook Saved the Day
A woman who was held at knifepoint in Sweden were able to seek help from his friends by updating his status on Facebook. According to reports from the newspaper The Local, a male acquaintance of 23-year-old victim was able to enter her apartment and warned Gothernburg him with a knife. The woman was able to connect to the Internet while sin is in her apartment and post status updates on his Facebook page says he was held against her her own home.
Friends who were able to see her Facebook status updates call the police and asked for help. According to police spokesman Thomas Fuxborg, "He apparently did not have access to a phone, but he was able to use a computer to send out a call for help to his Facebook friends." When police came to the woman's apartment, he was already able to escape out of the house and will have for the police with a friend. The authorities arrested the 27-year old attacker who then still inside the apartment. The man was charged with making unlawful threats and unlawful restraint.
