It Was Not A Knife
During the old days, the knife is used mainly as an army assault weapon or kill the enemy. Nowadays, knife is used mainly as a tool for cooking, doing art work or home renovation. Some knives like Swiss army knives, were brought around by Boy Scouts or hikers as a handy tool when roughing it up some. Nevertheless, these are the only settings that allowed carrying and wielding knives. When the knife is carried out in a day, especially when they are hidden, legal and ethical issues arise from it. It also includes carrying knives as a defense to own weapons. It is a gray area and something that should be given more thought.
The important thing to remember when bringing knives are safety first. One way to ensure this is that people should be equipped with necessary knowledge and skills in carving. When one is clumsy or uncoordinated, there is always the risk getting hurt to own one of the carving tools or weapons. Chefs and taught cooking skills in the kitchen, especially when they encounter many different knives for many different purposes – chopping knife, bread knife, paring knife, knife for slicing and cutting, etc.
When handling a knife, it is important to understand how it is designed and for what purpose. Long knives should be handled with greater care and prevention rather than shorter knife. On the hand, shorter knife like a knife and folding pocket knives are easier to conceal, and can be considered dangerous weapons. Some public schools, office work, and airline companies have installed a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to carrying out any form of sharp object. Since none exempted from this policy, there have been cases where innocent and ignorant people who found themselves suffering from its consequences, as in the case of a seven year old boy scout who was expelled from his school for carrying a knife handy tool that he uses for eating lunch. In a interesting piece of news, a metal pen thrown as a practical joke gone awry during a race track in the recent New Zealand Trotting Cup, is thought to have been a knife, and the person responsible has apologized and is subjected to a disciplinary action.
On the other hand, the knife is a delight to the collector of knives, to buy them not for his goals but for its aesthetic qualities. For example, a knife collector is looking for an old knife Bowie for sale. An old Bowie knife is worth for its exquisite design and a healthy steel blade, which is difficult to replicate today.
