Trout Stream Fly-Fishing Holding Lies
You flying fish for trout it becomes very important to know the different varieties of trout lies. The trout take up his position, or lie, depending on a set of 3 of their basic needs when they move into the water. The need is a shelter from constant current with protection from predators plus the needs of enough food.
Often swimming against any strong current can be very tiring for any trout. So, they look for protection from the current which becomes their foremost need. At times, the trout rests behind the objects in the water, like a rock, which breaks the current. However, at times, to stay within the trout holding lies close to the present. They prefer to be able to grab any food that comes their way and dash out of it.
The second required that the trout is the protection from predators. They often prefer water which has enough depth, or rough enough so they are not seen under other predatory birds such as kingfishers or osprey. The trout usually hold in which some kind of cover exists to protect them. The cover they look for is like a log or a deep pool. It could be an undercut bank to keep safe. Once while fishing, one can see small and medium sized trout feeding in the shallows often quite far from any type of shelter. It is however quite common to see the bigger trout feeding in the shallows, unless it finds some kind of cover nearby.
Third need, which most overrides the previous two, is the basic need for adequate food. The trout seem to live by the basic formula; Any food that it consumes should give it more energy than they spend having it. Any trout will fight against a strong current and heavy when moving, hatching, or drifting insects come into the system. For any amount of trout food insects which provide that justifies the extra energy needed to combat any current. Usually, in the case of a heavy hatch, trout might hold toward the surface of the pool, or a flat, putting them at risk from different other predators they feed greedily.
Fishing, learn the three basic requirements of trout which would make it to hold within some kind of water, when avoiding others, becomes a significant piece of information. Knowing the main spots of water that meet any of the trout's most basic needs, will certainly know where the fish are holding.
Holding Lies
Trout are holding three kinds of lies. Deep hole and the looking like dark areas within the streambed is usually used to shut off the current. Best deep holes often have logs or boulders for cover. Then, eddies below points, such as the edge of the boulders, create slack water pools. Sometimes a reverse current pool is created, which holds many trout. At times, groundwater upwelling have lighter spots of bubbling sand silt which is usually washed away himself. Quite many trout are brought closer to such springs and summers winter due to a stable temperature.
A successful fly fishing depend on knowing everything possible about the resources and habits of the fish you are planning to hook.
